Advice to avoid Rockmelon: UPDATE

UPDATE The source of the salmonella outbreak has been identified and the produce has been recalled. Rockmelons currently on sale are not implicated and are safe to consume. However, as a precaution, the authorities recommend not consuming any rockmelon already purchased if the exact origin is unknown.

Food Standards Australia New Zealand (FSANZ) are recommending that pregnant women, infants, elderly and individuals with weak immune systems avoid rockmelon (cantaloupe) from Australia while they investigate a recent increase in cases of salmonella.
